Very quiet room despite central location on the river front and within walking distance of station, Alstadt and Neustadt. Free coffees downstairs in the lounge, excellent and luxurious breakfast buffet in panorama room (!) on top floor with views over the city and the Rhine. The breakfast selection was very nice too. Mainz is a fantastic city. It has all the flavors what I long for. The strong history heritage, z.b. Mainz dom; the best wein Jard region of the world, z.b Rhine Weingau; authentic German food; the active growing business environment; the city is not big but just big enough for everything. Mainz is the city , the longer you stay, the more you love and you will go away. Ich liebe Mainz.

The location is great if you have an early departure from the train station, but not so great if you want to go out to the old town in the evening.
What I liked was the convenience around my train trip snd the good quality of the hotel.

Mainz is a relatively small city founded in Roman times and
Mainz is a relatively small city founded in Roman times and
sits where the Rhine and Main rivers meet. Some Roman ruins still remain.
There is plenty of good shopping, places of interest and some great restaurants, a couple of days in the city is probably enough.
The Rhine forms the border between Rhineland Palatinate and Hessen, so you may need different travel tickets if you leave Mainz itself.
To see further afield, either the rhineland or hessen day tickets give up to five people unlimited rail travel for a very reasonable cost (about £30) so you can explore a large area cheaply.

I was there for work, so I didn’t act much as a tourist.
Anyway I think that Mainz is a rather typical German city with an interesting Altstadt and good transportation. All the other districts I visited were rather abandoned, with tones of waste on the streets and an air of what the French call “decadence”. I didn’t feel safe walking back to my hotel at night and for 4 whole days I didn’t meet just one policeman.

Mainz is a great place to stay if you're flying into/out of the Frankfurt airport. A short 20-minute ride via the S Bahn takes you to a peaceful town with an amazing amount of things to see.
In addition to the Gutenberg Bible Museum, this small but clean and safe city has an amazing Dom and Aldstadt to visit.
The hotel was very nice. The room for three people was well appointed and it had everything that we needed. The location was very nice. Though it was located close to the Main Train-station of Mainz the room, which faced the train station was still very quiet. We all had good night sleep there.
The breakfast was nice and the hotel provided us a list of what we could order, and the staff would bring us what we ordered. The breakfast was very nice and the dining room was immaculate. The hotel also has a restaurant located within it.
The welcome letter says that Hotel-Hammer wants "to attract guests who feel at home with us." SCORE! This place is great. Just steps across the street from the Mainz train station. Someone to welcome you at the front desk 24/7. They cheerfully held half of our luggage for two days while we went off on a side trip. The breakfast buffet is excellent—abundant, artfully served and delicious. Pizza, tart flambé and lobby bar are available 24/7. Mini-fridge in the room, too! What more could you want?
The hotel's location is perfect: it's 4-minutes walk from the Roman Theater (Romisches Theatre) train station, which is one of the several Mainz train stations and connects directly to Frankfurt airport, Frankfurt center, Wiesbaden and many points West. Please keep in mind: in many cases you won't need to change trains!
The hotel is also close to many historical landmarks and Mainz's old town.
In terms of comfort, everything was perfect, no complaints.
A last minute booking for our holiday and the best of the 4 hotels we stayed at. Never heard of this hotel chain but would definitely check out their other hotels. The room was very large and modern, contained a double bed and a bunk bed for the children. The breakfast room was also very modern and the breakfast quality was excellent! There is no restaurant for an evening meal but we found a great pizzeria in the old town. Definitely recommend!
The room was spacious. Breakfast and staff was super nice. Good location. Walking distance from shops old town and restaurants. Even got an omelet made by staff which was super delicious. So thanks to the breakfast staff. The gym was not in the hotel, but a small walk from hotel, with all the latest equipment and super friendly staff.
Very well decorated room, quality linen and very comfortable bed. Left us a bottle of water each which was much appreciated. Very pleasant reception staff. Able to leave bags before check in. Very well air conditioned room which was a luxury in the German heatwave in Mainz. Had a wonderful stay at this hotel.
We were only there for one night to experience Mainz Oktoberfest. It was the closest hotel to the festival, and it was just what we needed. Close enough to the tram so that you don't need a car to get there. Bed and shower were great. We opted for the breakfast and it was a great deal for around 5 euro.
The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff are welcoming. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of room with a very good shower. The location is quiet and characterful but is only a short distance from shops and transport into the centre of Mainz.
B&B Hotel is a great value with small, efficiently-laid-out rooms. I only stayed here because a train delay forced me to wait overnight to get home on the next train, but I was very grateful to find an affordable, clean, comfortable spot to spend the night.
The room was very comfort and quiet so we could have a pleasant stay at this hotel. It provides us clean and new facilities, and one can also have very nice German style breakfast. It is located at a walkable distance from Mainz Hbf.
Easy access to the Mainz main train station a bus stop.
Several restaurants near.
Short walk to the shopping district.
Elevator..
Nice hot water for showers.
Restaurant open for breakfast in the morning.
Helpful staff..
Very nice hotel right opposite Mainz main train station. Very nice staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and newly renovated bathroom. The room itself has the 1970s decor, but was clean and comfortable.
Very nice and comfortable hotel, the service staff is great and very friendly, also very polite. Good breakfast and working air conditioning. Osiris at breakfast service is really great!
Great option to stay in Mainz’s old town with immediate access to shopping, restaurants, etc.
Basic rooms with all necessities. Staff is friendly, breakfast was included in room rate
This was our 2nd visit to the hotel. As before very friendly staff, excellent food and service. Location is perfect for exploring the old town of Mainz.
