Set in Dundalk, 5 km from Louth County Museum, Fairways Hotel Dundalk offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. The facilities were clean, quality, tasteful and what you would expect from a standard USA hotel: beds were comfortable, linen soft and plentiful, bath towels large, shower was warm and relaxing with decent water pressure. This location was convenient; it was easy to get to and right next to a SuperValu, and parking was plentiful. I will also add, that it is not far from an electric charging point, which was helpful as my husband walked back from getting our car connected to charge overnight. The most impressive part of our stay was the staff, especially led by Chloe. We had driven out of our way from our Dublin destination to stay here, so I was a tired momma when we arrived. Chloe observed this and immediately started engaging with my kids, which gave me a minute to breathe. Of course, she was multitasking to check us in, so she didn’t delay our check-in, rather, she masterfully lifted any pressure from our fatigue and gave us an engaging welcome. When we told her we needed to leave early, before the breakfast that we had paid for was even open, she kindly offered to pack us take away bags, and arranged all the details for us. And when I mentioned the need to find flip flops as a bathroom shoe for my son, despite the town being shut down at 10 pm, she had house slippers delivered to our hotel rooms as a substitute plan. She was an incredible ambassador for the hotel and also for Ireland. Her grace and kindness were poignant and memorable. She is a talent that needs to be cloned! After we left the hotel, our teenager thought he had left his watch in the bathroom. We were hours away, so called the hotel to check. Imagine my pleasure when Chloe again a answered the phone. We explained the situation of the missing watch. Chloe said, “leave it with me,” which normally means “you’ll never hear from me again;” however, as we had learned to expect from Chloe, she followed through. She investigated with housekeeping and called us back to report in a timely manner.

Mc Kevitts is smack dab in the middle of the village. And the village is gorgeous! We were able to find parking nearby without issue and were greeted warmly when we got in. The room was a great size, steady WiFi, everything we needed. They gave us a lovely seat in the bar/restaurant and the baked hake we ordered was delicious. There was great craic all night, so fun in fact we didn't even leave the hotel! The power went out the morning we were leaving (no fault of theirs) and the staff were unnecessarily apologetic and beyond accommodating. We'll be back without a doubt.

The Hotel Imperial is in Dundalk town centre, close to all the major attractions and shops, bars and restaurants. It has free parking, modern bars and coffee shop. Excellent location. Super breakfast. Nice room.

Flynns of Termonfeckin Boutique Hotel is located on the banks of the Ballywater River and is a 10-minute walk from the beach and a 5-minute drive from Drogheda. Outstanding value. Very comfortable clean and relaxed

The Gateway Hotel Dundalk, where extraordinary experiences and unmatched service await you. The staff were very nice. The hotel lobby was very impressive. The room exceeded my expectations, and was very luxurious. Full coffee, tea and hot chocolate was provided with the kettle, and two cartons of water. The breakfast was very good.

The Glenside is located in beautiful countryside just 2 km from Drogheda and 5km from the beach at Bettystown. There is a bar, a la carte restaurant and free parking. Very nice hotel and restaurant staff, always willing to help. Even at breakfast you can chat and order something extra :)

Escape to The Carrickdale for comfort and indulgence on the Cooley Peninsula. It has a leisure centre, a fitness centre and the therapeutic Serenity Spa. The absolutely gorgeous hidden garden across the street from the hotel- we spent over an hour there - so many pretty flowers and plants to look at! The cafe was good as well with a lovely view of the gazebo and flowers
