Great customer service from Forest when there was a fault with our room door & my husband couldn't get in, tried all avenues, and got him a room free of charge. Just wanted to say thank you to all staff involved, including Amanda. Staff recommended great places to eat and the rooms are very clean & comfortable.
Hotel is near Yosemite which we highly recommend seeing; and to do a day tour with Discover Yosemite.
Would happily stay here again.

We used it for Yosemite. Price is cheaper, but for itself still crazy. You need a car to travel to food places.
bed was clean.

If you're going to the Yosemite Park, it's a 20-30min drive to the entrance (1-1.5h to the parking lot). It's recommended to arrive at the lot before 8AM to find a spot (the later in the day, the harder to get one, especially at Curry Village). Consider leaving the house at 6-6:30AM at the latest - it's early but worth it. There are grocery stores nearby (5-10min drive), two pizza restaurants. The house is in a quiet street, has a nice view to some greenery - nice to have a cup of coffee and just sit there contemplating it. Overall, excellent choice. If the location works for you - you can't go wrong with this house. Oakhurst itself has little to offer (in my opinion), but it is a convenient base for those who want to explore the natural attractions of the Yosemite and Sequoia national parks.

The room was clean. Bathroom had nice toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, many choices. Fitness room was pretty good. Location is very close to Yosemite so it was a little more expensive. I didn't mind paying for a luxury room.

Fell in love with the location and I want to go back. Sad to leave, but all good things with a vacation come to an end. I am glad I stayed central to the town. Loved the local art gallery and artist there.

Beautiful tiny city in a short ride to Yosemite, amazing and friendly locals always ready to help. don't forget to bring the chains if you travel to Yosemite. Stores in the area could be short of tire chains of the price won't make you happy.

Oakhurst is just 16 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite. That entrance is closest to the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. The Valley and waterfalls are another 45 minute drive. Oakhurst has a great selection of restaurants, antique stores and friendly people. The selection of rooms is less expensive and easier to book than Yosemite. During the season, there is also YARTS bus system taking visitors to Yosemite (there is a fee). This makes it easier so you don't have to fight traffic, search for parking or have a park reservation.

We found Oakhurst to be a friendly town whether in local restaurants, visitor center, drug stores, and grocery stores. Oakhurst has a quaint, small town feel to it. Close to Yosemite activities and Yosemite National Park.
Great location for heading into Yosemite. Took approximately 1.5hours to get into Vernal Fall area. Oakhurst is a pleasant town with supermarket and other local shops.
The hotel restaurant does excellent food and cocktails and is always lively and busy with good atmosphere.
Pool and Spa (jacuzzi) were perfect for aching legs after hiking in the day.
Room size was great for us - a little old fashioned, but perfectly clean and charming.
+ Breakfast is great there, with many different options to choose from - scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, bread, cheese, jams, and more
+ Localisation is also great, a 30-60 minute drive to national park, the town itself also offers many stores, restaurants, little shops
+ The hotel is quite big, offering many rooms and with many parking places
+ Clean, comfortable rooms with coffee machines inside
The location is excellent. It's right on the norther edge of Oakhurst and only 30 minutes away from entrance to Yosemite. If all you need is a cheap place to crash the night and don't really care about cleanliness, this will work for you. The room was warm, and the beds were comfortable enough. But...
We liked the location because it's in close proximity to Yosemite National Park. As 'Essential' brand in IHG group the hotel delivers basic products and services only. There is a large parking lot right in front of the hotel and it was free of charge. We had a coffee machine in our room for free.
We love everything here since we entered the hotel, the staff is super nice and very helpful. The room is so big and also have a little kitchen. If you are planning to go to Yosemite south gate, this is the perfect place for you to stay.
I loved the breakfast and from the last time I was here they have updated the restrooms. It is not far from Yosemite entrance. Price of the hotel is good too. The bed is very comfortable and nice a cold bed sheets.
Large room, great view, cozy atmosphere, privacy. Close to Yosemite south gate. Altogether a great choice if you want to visit Yosemite. Oakhurst is a nice little town with surprisingly many options for eating etc.
It was a nice location. We liked the town of Oakhurst, it had all the amenities you could want. After a snowstorm, a local gentleman checked on us to see if we needed help getting our car out.
Hotel located near the south entrance of Yosemite, with a reasonable price for its situation. The rooms are well equipped and have everything you may need. Good to spend one night.
We booked an overnight stay to go to Yosemite. This was a nice hotel close to some good restaurants in Oakhurst. There's a really good barbecue place across the street!
Beautiful setting: quiet, scenic, quail/deer on grounds. Friendly staff. Great location near Yosemite's South Gate and close to dining options in Oakhurst.
