Malmö, Sweden offers efficient public transport options including buses, trains, and trams. Skånetrafiken operates these services, with frequent schedules. For short distances, cycling is popular, with Malmö being a bike-friendly city. Car rentals are available, but remember Sweden drives on the right. Always check the latest travel updates before planning your journey.
The best areas to stay in Malmö, Sweden, are Västra Hamnen for its modern architecture and beach, and Gamla Staden for its historic charm. Both are centrally located, offering easy access to attractions and amenities.
Lovely, walkable center. Plenty of different dining options, mostly on the pricier side. Unexpected downside, too many immature individuals in super-noisy vehicles. Something I thought would not be a case here.

We visited in Spring time and the city looked beautiful. Clean air, blue skies, beautiful flowers, blossoming trees and clean waterways. City is generally very clean and public transport is easy and pleasant to use. So many excellent restaurants, we didn't have a single bad meal. Neighbourhoods felt safe too. We struggled to find any proper nightlife, but there are plenty of bars, cafes and squares to hang out in.

Great modern city of around 300,000 people, integrating new with the historic older squares, buildings and port infrastructure. New accommodation facilities being built on the harbour shore areas. Easy to cycle, walk and catch buses and trains! Very friendly people!

I really liked my first time in Sweden.
I really liked my first time in Sweden. The people seem very friendly, there is a lot to see, and I was lucky to have amazing weather during the entire trip.
Malmö is quite big, so while you can walk everything, it may be more comfortable to get a day pass for the public transport. I walked on average 20 km each day, which may have been less if I had made a concrete plan on which route to go, but I tend to go with the flow - and there's a lot of flow in Malmö.
The Disgusting Food Museum was fun, if you're into some out of the ordinary things to do, but there are also plenty of other museums, churches, and things to see in every street.
The city is a little bit dirty, but not outrageously so, and it's quite fresh as it is located directly next to the see. The beach is nice too, there's a beach for dogs, and space to swim.
I also spent one day in Lund, which is really easy to reach and an extremely nice University town with some great churches and architecture. I thought I could do this in a few hours, but I could have spent the entire day there.
I feel like I could come back for another week and still discover more things in both places, so I will definitely be returning.

Malmo is one of the greatest cities I ever visited.
Malmo is one of the greatest cities I ever visited. Firstly, the surroundings are very nice. The city has a beach, many parks, much of restaurants, museums, activity friendly places. Secondly, everyone is really nice and relaxed and the overall vibe is home-like. I would totally recommend to anyone who wants a short or even long city break.

An interesting city and the 'Cathedral' - St Petri - is a stunning building with what is said to be the largest organ in Scandinavia. Certainly well worth a visit. The various squares with restaurants are cosy and fun. The live music bar (Irish themed) called Fagan's was fun and full of atmosphere. The 'Folk & Rock' bar/live music house in the Lilla Torg square was full of memorabilia and whilst we didn't see the band playing there that night, we went for a coffee after church the following day.
We wanted to visit so much more, but sadly we didn't have the time.
A warm welcome by the host Gazale. Everything felt very family-like and with great engagement. The kitchen is very clean and travellers can leave their food that they do not want to carry with them and mark it as 'Free to use' for others, which I like a lot..
A nice, standard breakfast buffet, that satisfies most flavours.
I stayed during off-season with only a few guests, but hope the standard it's the same during high season.
I definitely will return to this hotel on my next stay in Malmö.
Superb hotel. I was really surprised by this hotel. It’s very cheap and the reception decoration very basic so I was expecting less but it was great and the choice of Colours amazing (was even matching my phone case and luggage :)).
I enjoyed the Yogurt station and the croissants at the breakfast (broke my diet because of the very good croissants). Will come back if I am back in Malmö.
Close to central. You can also see they focus on being sustainable.
Nice staff.
Everything was perfect during our stay. We loved the hotel and the whole vibe there, it’s a unique experience. The staff was great, the room was clean, and the WiFi was of the great quality as well, which was very important for us. And the food was…delicious! The hotel is located in the centre of Malmö, so everything from there was in a walking distance for us. We love it, and we’re looking forward to our staying here again in the future. ✨
During my stay at the Quality Hotel View in Malmo, I found the breakfast to be the most impressive aspect of the hotel. The selection of food was very complete and I enjoyed the variety of hot and cold options available. There were many options to choose from, including pastries, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, and freshly brewed coffee and tea. The quality of the food was also very good and everything was well-prepared and nicely presented.
Rooms are super small with dirty sheets and dust all over the room. Our room did not even have a door to close bathroom. Terrible experience. In the hotel is cold. I guess they are expecting everyone to adjust into their weather. I am surprised we were treated this way because couple years ago I had completely opposite experience. I am almost certain that I will never come back to Sweden.
Really clean and modern hotel/facility, the studio apartment had everything we needed (and a very well equipped kitchenette). Great shower, comfortable bed. Location is a bit out of the centre, but loads of easy bus options a short walk away. (Malmo's public transport is excellent). Optional breakfast is enough to set you up for the morning, and tasty.
We hadnt actually placed too much emphasis on Malmo for our holiday as it was a final 'placeholder' night before flying out from Copenhagen airport. But we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. the hotel was well located to the vibrant squares with plenty to eat and drink and see. the rooms were large and well appointed.
The location of the Hotel is very central and a five minute walk to the Central Station, also a five minute walk into Central Malmo which is perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful . Breakfast was a huge variety of hot and cold options. Bedroom was comfortable with a good powerful shower
Hotel in a great spot , near to the train station and city centre main area. We were able to go back to the hotel and out again in the evening. Within walking distance. Facilities all very good, nice breakfast buffet and helpful staff. If I ever go to Malmo again I would stay again.
Real 4 star Maybe more ( in Sweden anything seems to be 4 star).Beautiful art deco building.Enviromentslly friendly.Competent nice staff.Few steps from train station and airport bus stop. Most beautiful places in Malmö round the corner And many restaurants.Good big breakfast
