I write this review from a specific perspective — I had arrived in Vrindavan with a group but then stayed a few days on my own. I have been to Vrindavan previously but I was a little nervous about staying solo as a western woman… Vraja can present some challenges for us in regards to attracting attention, even if you are an experienced devotee. I usually stay at MVT so I can walk directly to ISKCON by myself, but it was full and I am SO GLAD I found Shree Krishna Bhakti Ashram instead! It perfectly threads the needle between having comfortable rooms and being peaceful and still in the center of Vrindavan, with the real spirit of Vrindavan and not like some of the newer developments. “Ashram” conjures up thoughts of austerities — and on the same trip I stayed alone in a Math that I couldn’t handle alone… but the rooms here are incredibly comfortable and provide things that seem luxurious in an ashram, especially for the price. I had a king-sized bed with comfortable mattresses, multiple pillows, and duvets — no fuzzy brown blankets … A wardrobe, a table and chairs for sitting, a KETTLE and tea/coffee cups with some hot drink packets and even digestive biscuits!!! Also an amazing ceiling fan, real towels in the washroom, a shower head providing hot water with water pressure instead of a bucket… etc. There’s even a TV with cable, I believe, but I did not get a chance to use it. there’s also an enclosed colonial-style veranda looking out onto a lawn which is a peaceful place to enjoy your beverage. The ashram features a small temple in the back which seems to offer small aartis daily, but this really seemed like more of a guest house than a residential ashram. anyways here is why you should choose this place as a solo woman — there is always security and the staff are AMAZING and super helpful! I booked specifically based on other Booking reviews that expressed this.

A very friendly and kind host who took great care of us, giving tips, organizing a taxi, money change and whatever you will need to make your trip easy, just ask if you need something. The house is located away from the main road and therefore offers a quiet environment. The host offer home made traditional food, very delicious and served cleanly, recommend. The house has a beautiful terrace and it is possible to eat there.

Situated in Agra, 2.2 km from Taj Mahal, Max Guest House features a terrace and views of the garden. Free WiFi is available. I like that Max is very attentive with his guests. From arrival to departure, rooms, food, etc., he makes sure that everything is ok. Wifi is strong, rooms are comfortable and spacious. Food is tasty. Free daily water as well. Max can also arrange tours of Agra and neighboring Rajasthan area.

Centrally located just a 10-minute drive to Varanasi Junction Railway Station and the city centre, Azure Family Paying Guest House offers free Wi-Fi access at all areas and houses a restaurant. The room was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. The daughter and son were very kind and sweet. Overall, excellent experience. I would highly recommend.
